Projects & news

I like to wander around and talk to people, and this leads to some exciting collaborations and opportunities. These are some of the current projects that I am involved with.

unique writers group

I convene the group History and Empire on Screen Writers Workshop for Screenwriters to explore how we write non-white protagonists in historical drama set in Britain. With expert lectures from historians and other scholars.

This came about after I was awarded the Collaborative Learning in the Arts and Social Humanities (CLASH) Fellowship for Public Engagement.

I am also a Scribe, part of Leisa Shelton/Fragment 31's innovative live writing project. I was a Scribe at Spill Festival of Performance, Ipswich, 2016 and hope to participate in Scribe in Berlin in 2018.

teaching, research and ACADEMIA

I am a Lecturer in Screenwriting at University of Greenwich and also at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Sometimes I teach in the Department of English at King’s College London and I also taught Screenwriting to students in the School of Dentistry at King’s as part of the Clinical Humanities pilot. Courses I have taught on at King's include Writing London, Australian Literature and Film and Ideas of Nation.

I also work as a Knowledge Exchange Associate for the Cultural Institute at King’s. In this role I facilitate collaborations between academics and artists and develop public engagement projects.
